We are delighted to welcome our new conductor, Arturo Serna, and are sure there will be many exciting and rewarding times ahead under his baton.
Arturo studied at the famous El Sistema and continued cello studies in
France and Switzerland. He began his conducting career at Trinity
College, London and is now studying at Blackheath Conservatoire and has
been accepted to participate in Master Classes at the Royal Northern
College of Music, Manchester, under the guidance of Mark Heron. A
busy and passionate pedagogue Arturo taught at the Dacapo Foundation,
London, for 6 years and currently teaches in Dorset and Somerset.
He is a well known professional cellist performing in Royal Festival
Hall, St Martin in the Fields and many other London venues, as well as

musician he had an active performance schedule with pianist Ana Laura
Manero. Their ensemble, Duo Teresa Carreno have performed
extensively in Europe and Venezuela.
The Bridport Chamber Orchestra has charitable status and is self-funding.
